Databricks’ mission is to accelerate innovation for its customers by unifying Data Science, Engineering and Business. Founded by the original creators of Apache SparkTM, Databricks provides a Unified Analytics Platform for data science teams to collaborate with data engineering and lines of business to build data products. Users achieve faster time-to-value with Databricks by creating analytic workflows that go from ETL an interactive exploration to production. The company also makes it easier for its users to focus on their data by providing a fully managed, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that reduces operational complexity and total cost of ownership.

More about the team:

The Product Partnerships team is part of the Product organization and responsible for building and managing our technology and Data Provider ecosystem. The work we do seamlessly extends our product capabilities through partner integrations so our customers can focus on outcomes versus knitting systems together. As such, we are considered an extension of the product team.

The team comprises Business Development personnel responsible for initiating, incubating and managing partnerships, and Partner Solution Architects responsible for helping partners with technical integrations. Our roles require significant interaction with the field and our customers, as well with Databricks product leaders to help shape our product roadmap. We are also considered thought leaders within the company on the broader ecosystem.

As a Unified Analytics Platform, a thriving partner ecosystem is foundational to Databricks' growth strategy. Additionally, with the launch of Delta Sharing, Data Provider partnerships have become a high priority for company leadership to establish it as an accepted standard.

The impact you will have:

  • GTM plan for each of your managed partners, and maintain a qualitative/quantitative scorecard for each - Partners know exactly where they stand, and what they need to do to achieve Manage, and grow, a portfolio of ISV partners in one or multiple categories  (i.e., Data Integration, BI, ML/AI, Governance, Developer Tools)
  • Demonstrate  a level of expertise and thought leadership to work credibly with our Product Management teams on partner and ecosystem strategy in relevant segments
  • Demonstrated success in working effectively with partners and our field sales teams to close deals with customers
  • Manage partners on a clear path to joining our MDF program and being in Databricks Partner Connect

What we look for:

  • Strong empathy for customers and partners. We will look for a proven track record of building successful partnerships. Someone who moves the needle in those relationships and drives impact, rather than “minding the shop”
  • Prior experience working and building category partners is required (5-7 years), including an understanding of their sales cycles and GTM motion
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • A technical background is preferred (e.g, Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering, or early professional experience in a technical role)
  • Knowledge of the Data & AI software ecosystem and cloud technologies is a strong plus.
