About Us

Midpoint Markets is a small but growing financial sciences team that applies a systematic and quantitative approach to tackle the most complex challenges in the cryptocurrency trading space. Our diverse group of scientists, engineers, and traders are committed to developing innovative, rigorous, and practical solutions to these evolving problems. Operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly competitive environment, we address a wide range of challenges and seek collaborative problem-solvers. We're searching for the brightest minds to join our team and drive forward our shared mission.

About the position

We are seeking a Trader to join our Trading Operations team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for helping us scale our strategies to new markets. You will also help us build tools to progressively automate the management of our trading and respond to changing market dynamics. This role is for off hours coverage and will require you to work independently while having the discretion to escalate issues as necessary. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee automated trading processes and detect issues with them.
  • Design reports, dashboards, and alerts to assist with monitoring our trading and trading processes and detect issues.
  • Build tools to improve our logging and accounting processes.
  • Understand and oversee operational components of trading strategies and processes, and plan further automation to existing ones.
  • Execute operational components of trading that require human intervention.
  • Manage monitoring of exposures and hedges, as well as calculation / reconciliation of PnL.
What we look for

We’re not focused on specific technical experience—whether in Python, finance, or other domains. Instead, we value smart, driven people with a passion for solving complex problems. We’re more interested in how you think and approach challenges than what you already know. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelors or higher degree in a technical or quantitative field.
  • 3 years of work experience is preferred.
  • Thrive in an independent high accountability environment.
  • Understanding of trading is preferred.
  • Basic python proficiency.
  • Strong mathematical intuition.
  • Experience operating in frenetic environments is a plus.
  • Strong intuition for real-time prioritization and analytical decision making.
  • Willingness to work oncall and off-hours.
Benefits
  • Fully paid medical, vision, and dental insurance for all employees and dependents
  • Competitive 401k Match
  • Generous wellness benefits
  • Meals ordered to the office daily

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
