Location: San Diego, CA
Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 / yr base + bonus/commission + stock options, 401k matching, relocation assistance within the U.S. (if applicable), and other benefits.
Role Overview:
Seasats builds long-endurance ASVs that support maritime security, naval defense, and commercial and scientific innovation. With strong traction across U.S. defense and a recent $89M IDIQ award with the Marine Corps, Seasats is entering a major expansion phase.
We’re seeking a VP of Sales who can focus and amplify this momentum. You’ll lead and elevate the GTM team, deepen our engagement with the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Intelligence Community (IC), and allied partners, and guide Seasats toward consistent, multi-year, fleet-scale program wins. This role is central to how Seasats translates a proven product line into durable, repeatable growth.
Role Details:
Our sales process is established and generating meaningful results through repeat customers, active programs, global commercial demand, and strong inbound interest. The VP of Sales will refine and strengthen this engine, bringing structure, judgment, and disciplined execution as Seasats expands across multiple product lines and mission sets.
Your work will center on prioritizing the right opportunities, shaping how we pursue and win large programs, guiding a high-caliber team, and partnering closely with leadership to convert rising demand into predictable, long-term revenue.
Key areas of impact include:
Driving Growth Across Defense and Commercial Markets
- Lead strategic pursuits with Navy, USMC, USCG, IC, and DoD innovation channels
- Shape and advance customer pathways from demos and pilots to multi-unit buys
- Build trusted relationships with program offices, operators, and acquisition stakeholders
- Identify and grow commercial opportunities in ocean mapping, energy, research, and industrial sectors
- Drive international markets sales strategy
Building and Leading a High-Performance Sales Organization
- Refine the end-to-end sales process from qualification through contracting, deployment, and expansion
- Strengthen pipeline discipline, forecasting rigor, and team accountability
- Coach and develop sales, business development, and capture talent as we continue to grow
- Enhance pricing, packaging, and deal structures that support scale
Partnering Across Seasats to Deliver Customer Success
- Ensure deployments and customer engagements support long-term expansion and renewals
- Represent Seasats externally with senior government, military, and commercial leaders
About You:
You’re a builder and operator who can move seamlessly between strategic planning and in-the-field selling. You excel at selling into complex operational environments where mission impact matters, and you understand how large-scale CONOPS and high-value procurement decisions are shaped, funded, and executed. Specifically, you have:
- 10+ years in sales or business development leadership, preferably in defense tech, robotics, maritime systems, aerospace, or dual-use tech
- Demonstrated success leading deals with Navy/USCG/USMC or similar federal customers
- Experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams
- High technical curiosity, with the ability to understand autonomy, sensors, data, and operational use cases
- Excellent communication and executive presence
- A collaborative mindset prioritizing mission success
Additionally, you likely have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Prior service or extensive experience in defense, maritime, autonomy, or ISR systems
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition pathways and innovation contracts (e.g., OTAs, SBIR, rapid prototyping)
- Background working with primes, integrators, and global commercial customers
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-accountability startup environment
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a security clearance.
About Seasats:
At Seasats, we're passionate about delivering maritime robotics solutions to redefine the maritime industry. Our primary products are autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs), designed to carry sensors at sea for months at a time. Our ASVs provide persistent monitoring and data acquisition to defense, scientific, and commercial customers, and have autonomously crossed both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. After thousands of years in which the only way to gather information from the ocean was to put people on a boat, these uncrewed vessels are transforming how humanity monitors and interacts with the ocean. Here, you’ll find the space and opportunity to do your life’s best work.
Along with your salary, you’ll receive perks including:
- Competitive insurance (including a 99% employer-covered Gold HMO plan or other options)
- 401k matching up to 4% of salary
- Four free lunches per week
- An employee activity fund
- A pet-friendly office
- Unlimited/Flex PTO
Hiring Notes:
When applying, you’ll be asked to provide a resume and answer a few screening questions.
Please note that we are currently unable to sponsor employment visas, so candidates must be independently authorized to work in the United States.
We appreciate diverse perspectives and life experiences, and we’re committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds.
