Who we are About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Situated within the larger Finance and Workplace organization, the Environments team is responsible for designing and delivering beautiful, welcoming and highly functional spaces for our users globally and for ensuring that Stripe's real estate portfolio evolves to stay aligned with our mission and the needs of our users. The team consists of three main pillars with skilled experts focused on interior design, space planning and capital project delivery.

What you’ll do

As a Workplace Project Manager at Stripe, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of office fit out projects globally and will collaborate with the broader Workplace team and cross functional partners to implement Stripe's design guidelines, operational standards, and real estate strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for managing and delivering multiple projects of varying sizes and scopes concurrently. You will have full responsibility for ensuring that each project is scoped appropriately, is staffed with the right team, and is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with your Workplace colleagues, cross functional partners, and the leadership team to ensure that our global offices are safe, inclusive and welcoming environments that reflect Stripe's Workplace philosophies and our operating principles.
  • Support pre-lease technical due diligence activities on future leased office space
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the right stakeholders are looped in for each project: Finance & Strategy, IT/AV, Security, Design, Workplace Operations, etc.
  • Engage and actively manage external vendors to ensure that work of the highest quality is being delivered: architects, project managers, general contractors, furniture and artwork vendors and technology consultants to name a few.
  • Ensure that all of our offices' designs have operational integrity and function at their core, while ensuring that elements of whimsy, craft and beauty are seamlessly integrated into the user experience.
  • Collaborate with your colleagues across the Workplace team on our global strategies for real estate and the overall workplace experience; sharing industry knowledge, best practices and lessons learned to ensure that Stripe's business plans and growth are supported and enabled.
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience directly managing a variety of workplace design and build projects in a fast-paced tech company, preferably across a variety of international markets.
  • Some design and construction management experience, with basic working  knowledge of MEP systems, workplace technology integration, lighting, acoustics, FF&E and interior detailing.
  • The ability to concurrently manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of delivery overall.
  • Some experience with vendor and contract management best practices.
  • The ability to establish and manage capex project budgets for a wide range and scale of projects ($10k-$250M+).
  • Excellent communication skills: you will be responsible for relaying Stripe's design requirements to vendors, partnering with internal stakeholders and sending out company-wide communications, you should be a skilled communicator.
Preferred qualifications
  • Preferably some formal education or relevant hands on working experience with interior design, materials and furniture selection
  • Experience with delivering quick turnaround offices, preferably at a rapidly growing tech firm to support expansion into new regions - either as a traditional tenant improvement or in partnership with a flexible office provider
  • Some comfort level with reading and comprehending lease and work letter documents
  • Any land use and/or city planning experience
  • Facilities/operations management experience
  • Commercial kitchen and food service programming, design and construction experience
