Blend is in a very interesting phase right now. We’re no longer a startup that’s just building a product as quickly as possible. Now, it's a balance between moving fast, but also having a more long term view of how we build our software. Blend has many internal systems to make it easy for our software engineers to build new experiences for our customers. The engineering team is looking for its first Technical Writer to enable the next phase of Blend’s growth by creating technical documentation for the internal services, tools, and libraries that Blend software engineers build upon to deliver its digital lending platform to financial institutions.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Be the first Technical Writer and define the documentation development lifecycle for Blend engineering
  • Work with engineers, product management, and other subject matter experts to document the core capabilities Blend uses to build its products
  • Write and update developer documentation and sample code for microservice APIs and libraries
  • Improve Blend’s ability to deliver to our customers by creating and maintaining documentation for Blend’s engineering team

Who You Are:

  • Experience creating technical documentation from scratch
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to document microservices and libraries
  • Experience gathering and synthesizing information for documentation
  • Experience reading and writing sample code
  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Experience with Git and Linux

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with a “docs as code” approach to documentation
  • Familiarity with Node.js or Golang
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
