What we are looking for:
- A creative with a strong visual acumen who will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our photography across product launches and other brand initiatives.
- Our ideal candidate is an extremely passionate creative who possesses great collaboration skills and leads with a positive and optimistic attitude.
- The Photo Art Director will work remotely with brand creatives including copywriters, art directors, and production artists to facilitate pre-shoot concept decks and pitches, briefing and managing photographers, directing photo shoots, and leading production tasks such as final photo selections, retouching, and approvals.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Collaborates closely with the team to conceptualize and pitch art direction for shoots
- Manages photographer relationships, budgets, and direction
- Implements creative solutions to address feedback
- Can source photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and production teams to capture beautiful and unique portraiture
- Coordinates remotely with on-set production crew to facilitate photography logistics
- Works closely with retouchers to provide feedback and direction
- Drives initiative that improves photography processes and brand visual aesthetics
Requirements:
- A top-class visual portfolio that shows strong photography direction, retouching knowledge, and creativity
- Ability to communicate remotely for photo shoots
- Ability to lead a creative vision from concept through delivery
- Lighting, retouching, and compositing fundamentals
- Proficient use of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge)
- Experience directing on-set photographers and production teams
- Strong and professional written and spoken communication style
- Ability to navigate contractual details between photographers and the company
- Proactive nature with the ability to multitask, pivot, and work under tight timelines
- Organized in naming conventions and file structure
- A strong desire for personal growth, empathy, and ability to level up those around you
