We’re looking for an Analyst to help us keep on top of and respond to the latest happenings in the ever-changing world of e-commerce. In this high impact role, you’ll work closely with several departments and leadership to gain a strong understanding of Shippo’s product, our market, and the broader e-commerce space. You’ll use this understanding to help craft Shippo’s POV on changes in the market, help Shippo’s teams adapt to changes, and discover new opportunities for growth

SOME OF THE THINGS YOU WOULD WORK ON

  • Be an expert in all things e-commerce, shipping, and logistics.
  • Use your expertise to inform decision making across the company, including product, business development, and marketing.
  • Follow industry news and trends including, but not limited to - competitive research, investor reports and earnings calls from relevant market players, and relevant publications covering the logistics space and e-commerce.
  • Distill your learnings and POV to internal stakeholders and craft response plans where needed. For example, an announcement from a major player in the space may require Shippo to create content that educates our customers about the ramifications or a change to a carrier’s service levels may require you to collaborate with our product team to make the necessary changes within the Shippo Product. 
  • Share internal updates on a regular cadence to various internal stakeholders, including leadership and the broader company. 
  • Collaborate with Shippo’s PR team to identify and execute opportunities for thought leadership and media + analyst relations.
  • You tell us what you should do and what you want to do. The ideal candidate will work with leadership to identify new high-leverage activities and opportunities for growth. Our job is to set you up for success and let you take ownership as a marketer.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years experience in B2B communications, analyst relations, PR, or other relevant area - or - previous experience as an investment or VC analyst. Previous experience in e-commerce and / or shipping and logistics is a strong plus.
  • Strong external and internal communication skills. The ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience of stakeholders across different levels of seniority and focus areas.
  • Strong writing ability plus a willingness to formulate complex concepts in written form for internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically when evaluating projects. You don’t need to be a data analyst, but you should be able to leverage data to inform decisions. Familiarity with Looker, Heap, Mode, and / or Pendo are bonuses.
  • History of being a team player, and desire to jump in and get your hands dirty as needed.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
