Using data from billions of anonymized transactions, the Second Measure team has built a self-service analytics product for daily tracking and real-time exploration of 5,200+ public and private companies. Clients use Second Measure to discover new markets, gain an advantage in financial investments, and inform their competitive strategies.

As a Lead Applied Data Scientist at Bloomberg (as a member of the Second Measure team/product), you’ll work in a client-facing capacity, collaborating with some of the world’s largest institutional investors as a technical advisor. Partnering with our business development and client engagement teams, you’ll ensure we provide prospects and clients with the data they need to advise making multi-million dollar investment and strategic decisions.

We’ll trust you to:

• Engage with prospective and current clients to help them find value in transaction data
• Work collaboratively with client engagement and business development teams
• Mentor applied data scientists and analysts
• Own client-initiated research projects end-to-end from scoping to delivery

You’ll need to have:

• 3+ yrs work experience in a technical consulting, sales engineering, or client-facing data scientist role
• Production experience using SQL and Python 3
• Proven understanding of statistics, data cleaning, and machine learning
• Advanced data storytelling skills that enable you to explain sophisticated data topics to non-experts

• Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Experience with functional programming
• Domain expertise in buy-side finance
• Passion for using data to understand multifaceted problems and topics
• Contributions to open-source projects
