Role Summary:

As Mobile Insights Analyst at Sensor Tower, you will drive the creation and publication of customer-facing research into the global app ecosystem. Leveraging our wealth of quantitative data on mobile apps, you will identify emerging trends and opportunities within the market, crafting reports, analyses, and other content based on your findings.

The ultimate responsibility for this position will be to provide our customers with meaningful, actionable insights to drive their business growth. A Day in the Life: Jonathan Briskman - Mobile Insights Analyst (SF)

What made you want to work at Sensor Tower?

I was interested in Sensor Tower because of the culture. It was immediately clear to me that I’d enjoy working with such wonderful people every day. In addition to that, the possibility of having ownership for my own work and the freedom to explore what interested me was incredibly appealing.

What does your day to day look like working as a Mobile Insights Analyst?

My day to day is a healthy balance between working on long-term projects and assisting the team with more urgent requests. About half of my time is spent creating reports covering some of the most interesting topics in mobile. This includes everything from the initial planning and research, to pulling the data and creating charts. The rest of my time is spent assisting the team on quicker projects. For example, I’ll write scripts to pull data for blog posts or press requests.

What do you like about working on the Mobile Insights team?

We have a diverse set of backgrounds which allows us to lean on each other’s strengths. This not only lets us do better work, but helps us all learn from each other and improve at different aspects of our jobs.

What is something you’ve learned while working at Sensor Tower?

My role as Mobile Insights Analyst has given me the opportunity to work with every single team at Sensor Tower and I’ve learned so much about how different teams work and provide value to a business. This has helped me broaden my view of a business and provide value beyond what I was able to with my more limited perspective as a data analyst.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or other field with strong statistical basis
• 2+ years applied experience in business intelligence, data mining, analytics, or statistical modeling
• A passion for data analysis and presentation of data insights
• Practical knowledge and familiarity with querying data from databases (SQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tool sets, coding languages, and techniques (R, Java, Ruby, Python, etc.)
• Strong proficiency with one or more statistical visualization or graphing toolkits (MS Excel, Tableau, etc.)
• Ability to grasp the concepts of complex products and use cases to investigate, model, and present them (Powerpoint, Keynote, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical developers and non-technical marketing business partners
• Self-starting attitude, strong written and verbal communication skills and an attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Analyze large, extensive data sets to collect insights for external facing content
• Work with Sr. Mobile Insights Analyst to create roadmap of external facing report-format content
• Collaborate with Mobile Insights Strategists to support their content creation by helping define methodology, performing analyses, and answering unconventional questions using data
• Build and maintain an array of queries to aid in automating recurring analyses and optimizing complicated data pulls
• Create clear, compelling, and illuminating data visualizations for use both internally and in external-facing content such as reports and blog posts
• Research and implement marketing and publishing strategies that align with our business goals
• Collaborate with and educate cross functional teams on insights and reports that you create
• Become an expert user of our Sensor Tower platform and features to gather insights and educate both our clients and internal teams
• Work closely with leaders of our various functional teams to identify their immediate ad-hoc data insight needs
• Use data to develop recommendations of use cases that align with our business priorities
