Job Description

We’re looking for our first design-focused program manager to help us elevate the quality of the Wish Design team. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, and implementer, who wants to contribute and lead on several fronts at once. We aim to continuously improve the way we communicate and work within Design, and with the rest of the organization. From team goal-setting, to on-boarding, and to program development for design workshops and communications: this role will have a significant impact on Design’s effectiveness and impact at Wish.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic initiatives for scalability

  • Optimize efficiency for a cross-functional team including designers, engineers, product managers, UX writers, QA

  • Proactively identify obstacles/risks concerning multiple projects/teams

  • Face roadblocks or challenges head on with creative solutions and professionalism

  • Continuously drive operational strategies

  • Uphold best practices for a holistic product design approach

  • Empower the organization through thought leadership, workshops, coaching, mentoring, etc.

  • Foster a safe, playful environment filled with constant learning and support

  • Maintain an organizational culture with empathy, visibility, impact, and purpose

Qualifications

  • Must have 4+ years of Design Ops / Program Management experience on a product design team, or equivalent experience as a Producer or Executive Producer at a design agency
  • Demonstrated program and project management skills—you possess masterful organizational and executory ability

  • Solid understanding of product design teams and process, including discovery/research, exploration, iteration, and delivery

  • Adept at building lasting, high-quality working relationships with designers, researchers, writers, product managers, and engineers

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
