The Role

Passionate about creating new products that users love? We're looking for a motivated Head of Design who can help us realize our product vision and set the design blueprint for a company with a strong momentum and path forwards. At Productiv, design is a full partner in building product and making decisions.

You have a deep empathy for the end-user and believe in making experiences that are understood and friendly, even when the underlying tech is complex. You advocate for user-centered design methods and have experience building that out at scale through establishing the right processes and relationships. You will report to the CTO and partner closely with the head of engineering and product.

Responsibilities

• Both lead and execute as you grow the team
• Oversee the product experience for the Productiv platform and all products
• Set the design vision, while balancing user, business, and technical needs
• Mentor and hire an outstanding UX design and research team
• Develop core design and research processes and adapt them as the product line and company evolves
• Advocate for and practicing an iterative user-centered design method, in partnership with product and engineering
• Build on a culture that incorporates user input and validation through all stages of product development
• You bias towards delivery with customer and business impact, but you also care about having a polished end experience and design

Requirements

• 3+ years experience managing design teams of at least 3 direct reports
• 10+ years experience building product and and experience delivering user-friendly experiences in a complex product space
• Portfolio demonstrating a foundation in UX design, including web applications
• Fluency in best practices and principles for research and design
• Experience with rapidly iterative design and development processes incorporating user validation
• Effective collaboration with product management and engineering partners
• B.A or B.Sc. in design or tech, or equivalent experience
