Bolt is hiring a Head of Design to build a world class product design and research organization, shape our product vision and strategy, ensure every feature or product we release is world-class. The ideal candidate has experience scaling design teams, deep user empathy, a passion for simplifying complex problems, and an action-oriented mentality.

What you’ll do:

• Hire top product designers and user experience researchers to build a world class design organization at Bolt
• Partner with tech leadership to set the strategy and vision for the future of Bolt’s product
• Work with cross-functional leaders (engineering, CSMs, support, sales, marketing, product, research) to serve as the voice of design and the voice of the user
• Elevate the role and influence of design within the company
• Serve as a player / coach as you grow the organization, stepping in when needed on the most strategic and complex projects
• Create a strong design team culture that attracts and retains top talent while ensuring only the best experiences get shipped
• Provide systems thinking that solves design problems at scale, both strategically and tactically

What would set you up for success:

• 4+ years of experience leading design teams
• Experience shipping quality products
• Able to motivate and inspire while being the voice of design internally and externally
• Proven ability to be a thought leader and guide a team towards achieving a common goal
• Experience with all stages of the design lifecycle from research to prototyping to visual design
• Proven track record of crafting a product strategy and vision
