As a DevOps and Database Administrator this position is primarily responsible for the uptime, deployment and management of our application infrastructure and Mongo/Mysql administration. This position will provide guidance, project management and hands on support to support the needs and projects of the game development platforms and their management. This includes providing strong technical direction skills to manage the system architecture, security, design and operations processes. This position reports directly to the Director of Production Infrastructure and works with multiple development teams.

You’ll most often:

  • Providing technical guidance and oversee data infrastructure.
  • Providing technical guidance and oversight of large cloud hosted infrastructure
  • Providing strong troubleshooting skills using experience and other available resources
  • Providing monitoring, disaster recovery, and system support
  • Maintaining up-to-date detailed documentation and publishing; where applicable
  • Providing strong Project Management skills
  • Assisting in ensuring 24x7 availability of services and infrastructure.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and/or 3 plus years relevant experience
  • Hands on knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, Redis and DynamoDB Databases
  • Demonstrated experience with design and architecture of large scale data projects
  • Demonstrated experience with sharding, replication, recovery, and performance optimizations
  • Demonstrated experience with shard key creation design and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience with data migration and minimization of downtime and
  • Strong, hands on knowledge and experience working with Amazon Web Services
  • Strong, hands on knowledge of scripting and automation of deployments
  • Strong, hands on knowledge of configuration management systems such as puppet.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a cohesive and positive team environment.
  • Flexible and adaptive; ability to provide structure where appropriate and needed
  • Experience with multi-site systems
  • Experience with Terraform / Puppet configuration management systems
  • Experience with CI/CD including Jenkins and other deployment pipeline applications
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of various Linux platforms. Primarily CentOS/Amazon Linux
  • Structural understanding of AWS Elastic Block Store, GB2, SSD volumes
  • Extensive experience with backup and disaster recovery best practices
  • Must be capable of independent self-direction

Extra bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in the video game development environment
  • Previous experience with: java development or other language
  • Experience working with a distributed IT team and the ability to assist less advanced technicians in their increased understanding of technologies
