About the role:

You’ll champion our vision to make every software company a payments company by managing and growing a strong team of developers, building relationships with other teams at Finix, and learning how to better serve the kaleidoscope of business models & markets that make up our user base.

Scope & Impact

• Drive functional vision for an area and lead org-wide initiatives that have a direct impact on one or more key business metrics e.g., driving user growth, revenue, CSAT/onboarding times, etc. 
• Build and launch cross-functional new products, platforms, or processes that improve the bottom line of Finix. 
• Lead multiple teams (3-4) aligned with our cohesive charter.

Strategy & Leadership

• Demonstrate a long term vision aligned with the company’s objectives.
• Deliver and execute a multi-year roadmap. 
• Define clear business metrics for product deliverables. 
• Strategic with an inclusive mindset beyond just core engineering (eg. product, technical support, operations, marketing, and other functions.)
• Proactively establish frameworks to motivate and retain the best talent.

Execution

• Work closely with Tech leads to ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability. 
• Ensure clear alignment of milestones and deliverables to deliver results as per expected timelines. 
• Quantitatively improve engineering efficiency and processes.
• Proactively identify and addresses redundant efforts and inefficiencies.
• Track and maintain a high work health index (WHI) and objectively measure quality and maintains a high bar.
• Proactively addresses any quality concerns with risk mitigation plans. E.g., quarterly DiRT testing, Fixit initiative, etc

Communication & Collaboration

• Create effective communication channels to ensure effective top-down and bottom-up communication e.g., regular team meetings, aligning OKRs to company objectives, team and partner updates. 
• Build a strong relationship with the partner teams and collaborates effectively to deliver on cross-cutting broad initiatives. E.g., establishing shared OKRs, aligning timelines across teams. 
• Demonstrate effective change management by delivering adequate transition plans, mitigation steps, proactive communication, etc.

Community & Culture

• Be an engineering champion for the company both internally and externally. 
• Take initiative to improve the Finix brand. E.g., Open source contributions, eng blog, tech meetups, conference participations.
• Drive a customer-first mindset across the functional area and shares learning to the rest of the organization. 
• Active hiring partner and comes up with innovative ways to attract the best talent. E.g., bar raiser. 
• Participate in key organizational aspects like performance committees, performance discussions.
