MasterClass is transforming online education by enabling anyone in the world to learn from the very best.  We are deconstructing what makes an actor able to cry on demand, how an athlete defies gravity, and what it takes to write a bestseller.  Our online learning content is available to students anywhere anytime, which supports our mission to ignite the greatness in others.

What we are looking for:

• Self-motivated leader with a passion for software engineering
• Strong leader who can bring stakeholders together on challenging engineering initiatives
• Innovative problem solver, able to navigate through ambiguity
• Grounded in solid software engineering practices

Responsibilities of the role: 

• Manage and mentor a high performing, driven team, and provide  coaching to junior engineers
• Identify opportunities for technical innovation and influence decisions for the team
• Partner closely with Growth Product Managers to set goals and empower ICs on team to achieve them with maximum autonomy.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience, building mission-critical, scalable, highly-available systems 
• 1+ years of technical leadership and management experience

• Proficiency in modern web technologies such as Ruby/Rails, React, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka
• Proven track record in forming effective cross-functional partnerships towards establishing executable roadmaps
