About the Team

Our team was recently acquired by Opendoor to innovate and deliver the mortgage experience. We started RedDoor - a successful Silicon Valley start-up and 2 years post our MVP, the results had amplified that the bet we made on innovating the mortgage experience from the lens of the customer, was delivering results that got noticed across the industry. We were pursued for acquisition from most of the major brands in brokerage and mortgage, because the product we built differentiates the experience of mortgage from everything else currently available to the customer.

We chose to join Opendoor because of the tremendous opportunity to scale in their platform, but also and perhaps more importantly, because of alignment on values around the priority of the customer experience and the overall culture, which to be honest, at the end of the day, even if you love what you do, if you don’t love who you are doing it with, it’s not fun. At RedDoor, we had a lot of fun…and continuing that at Opendoor has been a blast.

Caring about the customer is contagious on our team - this is an imperative mindset to be a part of our team and every person resonates with their passion no matter what they do - it’s also a principle Opendoor operates from (“Start and end with the customer”) and it is exemplified across the Company from the top down…otherwise, we wouldn’t be here.

Our team is not afraid to take risks - we are commissioned with the directive to deliver our mortgage technology to Opendoor’s markets in CA in 2022 and then scale it across the platform and all markets. This is a $50B+ opportunity, and we are going to deliver! 

Skills Needed

• 4+ years of experienced knowledge in JavaScript, TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, NextJS and alike
• Clear understanding of async design patterns.
• Deep knowledge in Node.js and server-side frameworks such as Express or HAPI.
• Experience in designing and developing SPAs.
• Experience working within a distributed SOA architecture.
• Experience building an automation‐focused culture, both in testing and build/deploy.
• Clear understanding of database design and structures, and different database choices.
• Client-focused, react well to change, work with teams and able to multitask on multiple products and projects.
• Attention to performance in web applications, and different ways of optimizing experiences for web clients.
• Experience in documenting API endpoints, using tools like OpenAPI and Swagger.
• Experience in working with Google Cloud products, such as Firebase.

For CO Residents Only, and in accordance with C.R.S. Sec. 8-5-101 et seq., the estimated base salary range for this role is $97,000 - $173,000 per year. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
