The Security Engineering team at Nextdoor manages all things Security-related, partnering with engineering, product, legal, and the People team to identify gaps in security posture, and help drive security best practices across the company.
The Impact You’ll Make
As the Leader of this practice, you’ll design our security philosophy and strategy, and the team structure to support them.
You will be a critical partner in creating and executing on global security policies and programs. You should be excited to bring your experience and expertise every day in order to:
- Develop and implement Nextdoor’s information security strategy
- Create systems and programs to constantly scan for and identify vulnerabilities
- Partner with product teams to incorporate security principles into their designs
- Educate teams and people across the company on how best to stay secure
- Continue to grow and expand our threat assessment and scenario planning capabilities
- Build a team (or teams) to keep Nextdoor’s communities safe
What You’ll Bring to The House
- Extensive experience (likely 10+ years) building technology products
- Expertise in security vulnerabilities and risks
- People leadership experience, including assembling high performing teams
- Strong business sense and an understanding of how Security supports organizational strategy
- Analytical inclination, with a perspective on what Security measurements matter, and why
- Enthusiasm for community enrichment and Nextdoor’s core values
