You will lead an engineering team delivering business impacting projects. You will work with a cross functional team through the full software development lifecycle, from business requirements to production delivery. What You Need to Succeed as a Lead Software Engineer at JustAnswer: 

You are: 

• A clear, concise and candid communicator with the ability to promote open discussion.
• Passionate about making an impact in product, business and technical innovation.
• A champion for Test Driven Development and testable code. 
• Able to design, code and deliver high performing, scalable applications.
• Able to lead a high performing, distributed Agile team.

You understand:

• Functional and object-oriented paradigms.
• Modern distributed architectures.
• Good development practices and their effect on productivity.
• Team building and cross team collaboration.

You have: 

• 5+ years of full-stack development using various programming languages.
• Ideally, over 2 years of experience specifically with Microsoft web technologies (SQL, C#, and ASP.NET) or a similar stack
• 2+ years leading development projects with at least 3 other developers.
• Developed robust and scalable enterprise software applications.
• Worked with cross functional teams (product, UX, analytics, business leaders).
• Experience with high load websites, large datasets, and both functional and code complexity.
• Proven analytical and software engineering skills with a creative problem-solving ability.
• Presentation and documentation skills.
• The ability to attend early morning remote meetings - because we are an internationally distributed team and communication is key to success.

What you will do at JustAnswer: 

• Drive technical projects to completion in various areas of our system.
• Promote effective Agile processes and coding practices.
• Have creative ideas for continuously improving our processes and productivity.
• Conduct design and code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Work with stakeholders to balance business priorities with development time.
• Produce and maintain engineering documentation.
• Work with Technical Operations to ensure deliverables meet service level objectives for run times, monitorability and reliability.
• Closely work with both onshore and offshore engineering and delivery teams.
• International travel required approximately 2-4 weeks a year.
