Senior Mechanical Prototype Engineer

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Contributing to DFMEAs and identifying testing and validation needs for new designs
- Designing test methods and equipment
- Speccing and sourcing test instrumentation
- Working with technicians to set up and run tests
- Collaborating with the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team to build testability into designs
- Documenting test results
- Own root causing of failures and driving their resolution
- Managing contract lab analyses
- Analyzing test data and recommending design changes or further testing
You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:
- You have 5+ years of experience with test and prototype engineering with proficiency in: test development, fixture design, rapid prototyping and data analysis
- You are great at designing fixtures and tools in Solidworks and/or NX
- You are a great communicator
- You are well-organized and maintain great records
- You have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
Bonus points!
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Proficiency in materials science, thermodynamics, or fluid dynamics
- Experience with LabView/Python/C/C++
