Volansi provides fast on-demand aerial delivery service for time-critical shipments over long ranges. We build and operate long-range, high-payload drones for commercial, defense, and humanitarian applications. Leveraging drone technology as a transportation method, we help our customers gain control of their supply chain and save millions of dollars on downtime and inventory costs. Our work came from the immediate need for critical delivery of parts to drastically reduce downtime for an automotive company. From this idea, our founders have scaled the company into a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals to serve critical delivery markets.

We are looking for a self-motivated, ultra-organized and pragmatic Senior RF Systems Engineer with a burning desire to constantly push the known boundaries of technology to create the next generation of delivery platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Volansi’s suite of hardware solutions can wirelessly communicate to each other, and to other 3rd party integrations. You will be involved at all stages of development, ensuring customers are getting the critical services they need, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and through new designs shaping the future of how Volansi products communicate.

What you will do:

• Ability to design and analyze RF systems, including point-to-point, cellular, mesh network, and sat-comm links.
• Ability to construct link budgets and evaluate antennas
• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end design, involving capturing requirements, selecting and evaluating hardware, and performing system-level validation
• Capability to troubleshoot RF system issues and identify solutions
• Comfortable supporting the development of 3+ products at any given time
• Enthusiastic about both advising others and executing work individually

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience designing, testing and troubleshooting RF systems and integrated products
• Familiarity with RF lab test equipment such as network analyzers, signal generators, and cable testers
• Familiarity with industry standards such as LTE, Wifi, LoRaWAN, ZigBee, or similar
• Experience with RF systems certification testing and spectrum management
• Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Matlab, etc.)

Desired:

• Familiarity with avionics or military RF standards is preferred
