Position Summary

What You’ll Do:

• Work with the Engineering team to configure, support, monitor, and improve the security posture of our Big Data platform, Corporate, and Cloud infrastructure
• Research and implement security-focused tools to defend our infrastructure & applications from risks
• Ensure that security requirements and considerations are woven into the development of each system
• Design security controls for an "infrastructure as code" service model
• Improve the signal to noise ratio from alerts, and work with DevOps to generate meaningful events
• Perform routine security posture assessments of the infrastructure, and build a resolution plan around any deficiencies and areas for improvement
• Develop and maintain security architecture diagrams
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to alerts, troubleshoot, and resolve problems
• Collaborate with the wider team and drive the designing and engineering of security solutions across the business
• Create and automate security controls in an Agile, CI/CD environment
• Drive static, dynamic, and opensource code analysis for the Engineering team
• Drive creation and collection of the information security KPIs
• Develop training and educational literature to educate enterprise workforce on best practices
• Supports the designing, testing, and implementation of complex security solutions to meet security and regulatory requirements for cloud environments
• Consults with development and operational teams to securely design applications and services following industry best practices
• Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders, including business owners, end-users, customers, project managers, and engineers
• Perform technology evaluations, supporting business case development, test case definition, and vendor selection based on industry standard criteria

About You:

• Experience in at least one public cloud (AWS or GCP or Azure)
• Knowledge of information security, risk management, and data privacy within a cloud environment and consumer-facing applications
• Knowledge of security capabilities and constraints related to deploying cloud native and multi-cloud applications and infrastructure
• Good understanding of firewalls, threat prevention and detection, and application security principles
• Good understanding of applied cryptography and Public Key Infrastructures (PKI)
• Good understanding of identity management, user authentication and authorization principles
• Demonstrated technical competency in security engineering based on hands-on experience or relevant qualifications
• Demonstrated effectiveness working in a multi-timezone environment
• Ability to develop solid working relationships across multiple levels and organization boundaries
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• AWS certified security engineer is a bonus
