We build payments infrastructure for vertically-focused software companies (think restaurant, yoga studio and winery software) and fintech providers so they can own and monetize payments without the heavy lift of building complex systems from scratch or relying entirely on disjointed third-party services. About the Role:

The Engineering organization at Finix owns the delivery and stability of our product end-to-end. The Core Platform team ensures Finix’s complete payment platform is highly available, scalable, and performant. The Senior Software Engineer for Infrastructure Platform is responsible for delivering features and services that are the bedrock of the Finix platform.

You Will:

• Create brand new shared services that can be used by multiple customer-facing services
• Become an expert in your domain and mentor junior software engineers
• Design, implement and operate common backend services that power our experiences and capabilities
• Scale our distributed services architecture to support growth while maintaining performance and reliability 
• Interface with the product and other functional teams and their leadership to deliver new features and services against the product roadmap.

You Are:

• Experienced in designing, implementing, and testing software
• Comfortable continuously delivering code, infrastructure, tests, and features to production
• Excited about finding new and better ways to make software reliable, scalable, and performant
• Obsessed with finding edge cases, understanding requirements, and design implications 
• Proactive in monitoring running systems and troubleshooting production issues

You Have:

• Have 6+ years of experience building and designing systems with several lifecycles 
• Extensive experience implementing secure APIs, highly available and observable services
• Built and deployed highly scalable services in cloud-based environments
• Kept tight control on multiple competing priorities and have a strong ability to multitask
• Worked on backend services like Search, Message Bus, Notification, and Authentication 
• Experience building services in AWS or other cloud infrastructure providers
