As a senior engineer on the “Core Squad” you will be using your deep understanding and expertise in React / React Native to improve the core user experience for all of our customers across both web and mobile platforms. You should have a fundamental understanding of how React Native works, how to optimize for performance when needed and how to organize your code for use across multiple platforms.

Like all engineering roles at HOVER, this is a cross-functional role. You will work in coordination with our other engineering teams (Backend, Graphics, Automation, DevOps) and non-engineering teams (Product, Design) to build and ship the highest quality products possible. You will be involved in all aspects of the product development lifecycle from planning to pixel-perfect refinement and deployment. You will be constantly finding just the right balance to ship as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest standards of quality. You’ll be surrounded by driven, exceptional teammates that will be sure to make it fun along the way. You should be flexible, self-directed, driven and able to work well in a cross-functional team to succeed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of JavaScript experience
• 3+ years developing and testing React applications
• 1+ years developing React Native applications
• Experience optimizing JavaScript and React applications
• Experience with all aspects of testing React applications: unit, functional, feature, and end-to-end
• Experience building fully responsive web and mobile applications

Bonus Points

• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client
• Experience building offline-first web or mobile applications
• Experience working with TypeScript or Flow
• Experience with Styled Components
• Swift and/or Kotlin experience
• Experience deploying production mobile apps to the App Store or Google Play Store
• Experience with AWS
• Understanding of product funnels, A/B testing, conversion optimization
