Software Engineer - Automation

Blend is in a very interesting phase right now. We’re no longer a startup that’s just building a product as quickly as possible. Now, it's a balance between moving fast, but also having a more long term view of how our software needs to be tested. We want to take Blend, which has found product-market fit in a market that has infinite possibilities and scale it 50x. Blend’s automation team works to improve the quality of the application by building robust, scalable, tests and tools to meet Blend’s needs. The team is looking for Automation engineers who can partner with customer-facing teams to understand complex customer use cases in detail and write automated tests based on those product use cases.
How you'll contribute:
- Work closely with customer-facing teams to understand customer use cases and share that knowledge with other engineers
- Write automated tests to detect bugs in customer workflows and integrations
- Contribute improvements to test frameworks
- Identify risks and recommend actions to minimize risk
- Use problem resolution techniques and processes
- Continually refine tests and antagonistically test the application
- Work well under pressure to meet due dates
Who you are:
- 3+ years of test automation experience in an agile environment
- Experience with API testing and browser-based automated testing
- Able to work independently and take initiative to tackle problems and challenges
- A self-starter, fast learner, attentive to details, and master multitasker
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Bonus Points!
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related discipline
- Experience with automated tests written in Typescript or Node.js
- Experience with Github and Postman
- Experience working closely with enterprise customers
