About the Role

We are looking for a motivated software engineering manager and inspiring people leader to manage our onboard software efforts. The onboard software team provides a crucial interface between our custom hardware platform and the autonomy and tele-operation stacks. As a leader for this team, you will play a critical role in developing and deploying our next generation of robots. This requires strong people skills and a good understanding of both low-level OS and hardware concepts as well as solid high-level software engineering and API design

• Mentor members of the team and support them in their professional development
• Provide feedback to company leadership on robot roadmaps and timelines
• Coordinate with robotics, product, hardware, and operations teams on roll-out strategy and technical development
• Build a diverse, world-class engineering team
• Provide technical guidance to the team

About You

• 3 years of technical leadership and people management experience
• Experience on working OS kernels, firmware, or low-level API frameworks
• Solid programming experience in C/C++
• You’re start-up minded: You are motivated by the opportunity to have a large impact and have demonstrated an ability to thrive in the ambiguity of a dynamic, start-up environment or you have the DNA to do so
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Bonus Points

• Experience with bring-up and integration of pre-production hardware
• Background in performance analysis and optimization, preferably with custom hardware accelerators, DSPs, or GPUs
• Prior work on ARM and x86 Linux platforms as well as embedded processors
• IoT networking experience
