About this position
As a Sr. Engineering Manager for 3D Visualization, you will manage a team whose expertise lie in real-time 3D visualization on the web. We have several projects where you can contribute. Some involve deep expertise in real-time rendering and state of the art techniques. Other projects involve 3D geometrical problems, linear algebra, and algorithms. You would also play a key role in our 3D reconstruction pipeline as a partner to our Computer Vision and Machine Learning teams. Finally, our technology is consumed internally and externally, which means that we develop easy-to-use APIs and systems that we can integrate into our products. - Lead an immediate group of 5 to 8 direct reports across two R&D groups: 3D Reconstruction and Photorealism.
- Craft a compelling long term vision and set goals to meet it.
- Lead the team to architect core geometry components for procedural geometry generation and parametrization.
- Help the team increase their breadth of knowledge to work on any part of our stack across multiple languages.
- Scale the team through both recruiting efforts and the growth of internal talent.
- Facilitate technical design discussions, remove blockers and align stakeholders.
- Plan and support career development for the members of your team.
- Inspire your team and build an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
- Experience in leading and growing people both technically and professionally
- Great Product sense combined with strong technical communication skills
- Passion for leading a rapidly growing, fast-paced team
Minimum Qualification
- 7+ years of work experience architecting, developing, and launching software products.
- 5+ years of work experience in projects related to 3D Graphics
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role, including hiring, performance management, and coaching.
- 1+ year taking experimental projects from inception to a production release in an R&D setting.
- Solid experience building scalable software, including testing and continuous delivery.
- Experience working with Product Management and Product Design to help set priorities and plan the roadmap for your team(s).
Three or more of the following:
- MS in Computer Science, 3D Graphics, Visualization or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing complex projects across multiple teams while providing active guidance to your team.
- Experience in developing CAD applications or related features.
- Experience with procedural geometry generation and parametrization.
- Experience building real-time visualization applications on lower-end devices.
- Experience with computational geometry algorithms and libraries.
- Experience taking R&D Projects to Production.
Bonus:
- Experience in GIS applications, WebGL and three.js, Tracing, Global Illumination.
- Experience with 3D Modeling Software, Commercial Renderers or Game Engines.
