GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads with excellent technical abilities, leadership, strong communication skills, and adaptability to new technology. 
• Leads the work of others in small groups of four to six data engineers to deliver medium- to large-scale projects, and act as a mentor and thought leader for the team
• End to end ownership from setting up frameworks to evangelize best practices, continuous improvements and optimizations of code and processes, and ensuring team members adhere to those best practices during the design and development 
• Collaborate and work closely with various cross-functional teams including business teams, analytics team, Product Managers, Platform, QE, SRE groups, and Data Scientists to get requirements converted into Technical design
• Work on and lead multiple projects and initiatives with competing timelines and demands 
• Be able to write, debug and refactor code and contribute as an individual contributor as situation demands it

QUALIFICATION OF SKILL & EXPERIENCES

• Design and build solutions for our business partners using Big Data technologies
• Must be an expert in building complex, multistage data-pipelines with heterogenous data sources using Spark (Scala), Flink, Hadoop/MR, Hive, Redshift, S3 Data Lake, AWS Athena
• Good experience in managing and optimizing Big Data ecosystems such as Spark, Hadoop and distributed systems such as Kafka
• Must be a solid software engineer with excellent coding skills in one of the modern languages - Python, Go, Java or Scala/Spark

 

• Preferably have 10+ years of experience in big data domain
• Preferably have experience in managing direct reports and people management 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related Engineering disciplines or equivalent
