As a System Software Compliance Engineer, you are responsible for verifying the production worthiness of a complete system stack of Nuvia hardware, firmware and software running off-the-shelf-operating systems, particularly when interoperating with 3rd party components. You will collaborate with external test labs, internal hardware designers, software/firmware developers, platform engineering teams and post-silicon verification teams. In this role, there will also be an opportunity to engage with our customers and third parties on the drive for a quality and standards-compliant product release.

Minimum qualifications

  • BASc/BSc (or greater, or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar program with an aptitude for Software Testing
  • Good foundational understanding of server class CPU architecture components such as I/O devices, power management, UEFI, baseboard management controllers
  • Fast learner, adaptable, self-starter who can work both independently and collaborate well within a dynamic team environment. Strong problem solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent technical communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Good understanding of revision control systems and bug reporting/tracking systems

Preferred qualifications

  • 5 years+ of demonstrated software test engineering experience
  • Knowledge and experience of data center industry standards and methods of verification
  • Strong understanding and experience in data center environments, data center accelerators, and related test automation techniques
  • Strong Linux programming skills with experience in C/C++ and build systems
  • Experience in working with Linux Open Source projects and toolchains
  • Experience developing software for server platforms and platform bringup
  • Experience testing for production quality software, on schedule, particularly in an organization that delivers software to enable silicon hardware

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive plan for verifying the interoperation of 3rd party components with a complete system stack of Nuvia hardware, firmware and software to establish production worthiness running off-the-shelf operating systems
  • Drive execution of 3rd party test labs for verifying production ready hardware and software
  • Design, develop and maintain software tools and automated test suites for the purpose of verifying compliance of Nuvia products at the system level
  • Assist in the definition of future server class SoCs and platforms by identifying opportunities for enhancement Nuvia products
  • Assist in identifying skills requirements and building a team of engineers working on production software readiness, customer use-cases, workload analysis, workload creation, and collaborating with other teams on bring-up/debug/diags
  • Focus on ensuring that existing Operating Systems and customer usage environments run well, while identifying strong opportunity for enhancements
