About the Team

The Financial Intelligence team builds and maintains database solutions used for daily, weekly & monthly financial reporting. By designing data models, dashboards, and reporting architecture, the team serves as the foundation for producing DoorDash financial statements. 

About the Role

DoorDash is looking for a Director to lead our Financial Intelligence team to act both as technical lead for scaling our reporting infrastructure and as a business partner to our Accounting, Finance, Tax, and Fintech Engineering teams. This leader will guide the strategy for generating financial data and insights for our core marketplace as well as new and expanding business units, partnering closely with business leaders across the company.

• Build a high performing team of Business Intelligence engineers and managers
• Partner closely with our Accounting, Tax, and Finance teams to understand our business and identify reporting needs
• Oversee/coordinate the overall architecture, design, development and maintenance of data solutions used for financial reporting
• Own and manage a portfolio of key financial metric calculations and report these to the Finance Leadership Team
• Supports month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete recording and reporting of financial transactions
• Use proactive data integrity checks to verify quality of the data on a regular basis and manage the process to correct data discrepancies
• Build data governance with scalable processes, useful data definitions, and effective project planning
• Provide expertise across data warehouse architecture and infrastructure maintenance that supports an evolving set of products with data infrastructure engineering teams
• Support compliance initiatives and implement controls across the BI data solutions stack

We’re excited about you because…

• 12+ years of technical experience working in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or a similar role
• 7+ years of progressive management experience 
• Knowledge of relational databases and data management frameworks (Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL, Git, Airflow) as well as familiarity with big data concepts
• Familiarity with general accounting principles, with the general ledger close process, and regulatory compliance
• Experience working with engineering and financial teams to assess their data needs
• Experience using solutions to support various reporting and data user tools (Chartio, Tableau, Looker)
• Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional critical thinking abilities
• Technical knowledge of Finance business systems (Oracle, Workday, Netsuite, ADP) preferred
