As a Director in the Finance Team, you will lead and own the company’s forecasting efforts, support strategic decision-making by helping evaluate the impact of business initiatives on revenue and margins, and own investor and board reporting metrics. You will play a critical role defining, improving, and scaling Hinge Health’s FP&A processes and building out Hinge Health’s FP&A team. 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Ability to prepare 100% of financial models from scratch, and perform 90% of quantitative deep dives independently to get to the core of the issue
  • Distill 100% of various revenue and cost drivers to build a robust, precise, and scalable model for HH’s P&L, incorporating baseline trends and the incremental impact of business initiatives
  • Lead forecasting processes, including owning and improving our forecasting tools such that our short-term forecast is within +/-15% of actuals 3 months out, and our long-term forecast is within +/-25% of actuals 6 months out
  • Lead budgeting processes such that budgets are within+/-25% of actuals 12 months out, including defining the scope, developing tools to enable team-leads to create budgets, and conducting detailed variance analysis once implemented
  • Own and report on relevant KPIs internally and externally with 100% accuracy
  • Own 100% of investor metrics and board meeting documents, and support putting together of ad-hoc requests and delegating where needed
  • Set-up, structure and lead an FP&A team such that 100% of FP&A work is done according to best practices

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Analytical and Structured Thinking: ability to distill problems into structured models, and present assumptions in a clear and concise manner
  • Change management/Influential: ability to influence stakeholders, especially with regards to creating new processes (e.g. budgeting)
  • Team management: works with the team, and company leadership to define robust team & individual OKRs
  • Decision making: decisive, effective, creative problems solver for all aspects of their team’s work
  • Attention to Detail: stands for utmost data integrity, and cross-checking of numbers 
  • Autonomous: able to define solutions independently having consulted with stakeholders with little guidance 
  • Build cross-functional relationships and expertise to ensure thoughtful, accurate, and timely data is gathered across all elements of the business
  • Solid financial and accounting acumen: extensive hands-on exposure to financial modeling and strategic decision-making analysis
  • Mastery of Excel with the ability to build large scale financial models that are flexible enough to drive real time business conversations
  • Willingness to work with SQL
