The Payroll Analyst will prepare and manage the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This position is remote (Pacific Time) in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and maintains accurate payroll records/inputs for payroll processing of multi-state organization using Workday
- Reviews and reconcile payroll outputs to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Assists in the administration of the organization’s 401k plan, provides plan support, and reconciles contributions quarterly or as-needed
- Assists in month end financial close reporting by preparing and recording payroll entries to the general ledger, including reconciliation of service provider invoices and payroll liability accounts.
- Perform periodic reconciliations of payroll tax payments, FSA balances, and PTO balances
- Acts as primary liaison between Workday and OSV (payroll processing service provider)
- Facilitates internal and external audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Provides excellent customer service to an employee base of over 500 and growing.
- Have an eye for process improvements and recommendations in a fast-paced and dynamic organization
- Be open to other tasks and side projects as needed to support the finance function
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
- 5+ years full cycle payroll processing experience, with demonstrated contribution to process improvements
- Proficient with Workday and Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Experience with Netsuite a plus
- Working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, and foreign entities with the drive to master them all
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Be adept at prioritization, responsiveness and understanding a sense of urgency with the ability to balance multiple projects
