This Senior Accountant position is a critical role within the overall accounting operations for our rapidly growing company. The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the Controller, the Director of FP&A, and the Human Resource team, as well as serving as a point of contact for our external auditors. As Senior Accountant, you will own the procure-to-pay processing and monthly accounting at our corporate headquarters. Upon hire, you will report directly to the Controller. This is a great opportunity to refine your accounting skills in a fast-paced, growing start-up. You will partner with stakeholders across our dynamic organization to build and support a robust procure-to-pay accounting and control infrastructure.

What you'll do:

  • Own and manage day-to-day, and monthly accounts payable activities to ensure compliance with internal controls, external audits, and US GAAP
  • Support monthly close and post-close activities
  • Manage full-cycle payroll, including reconciliations
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from sources such as NetSuite, Bill.com, Expensify, and corporate credit cards
  • Prepare complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare supporting documentation for annual audit
  • Develop, improve, and document procure-to-pay accounting policies and procedures
  • Continually look for ways to improve your function (improve workflows, automation, etc.)
  • Support the FP&A team and other key stakeholders with spend forecasting and variance analysis
  • Facilitate and maintain cross-departmental relationships
  • Work on ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • At least 2 – 4 years of public accounting experience (bonus points for Big-4 CPA)
  • At least 2 – 4 years of private accounting experience (hyper-growth start-up experience preferred)
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting in which you owned the day-to-day and monthly accounting processes
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite
  • Experience with Bill.com and Expensify
  • Experience with Namely payroll processing
