About the role:

The Senior FP&A Analyst role will be an integral part of the finance FP&A team, reporting to the FP&A Director. This role will be critical in helping the team and company scale, primarily by collecting, standardizing, reporting and analyzing operational/financial data. The FP&A Senior Analyst will also assist the FP&A team with its task of helping the company objectively allocate resources, guide strategic decisions with financial acumen and rigor, and communicate financials to the Board of Directors, executive management and investors.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leader in helping evolve alignment of financial plans with operational goals
  • Support business leader in efficiently spending available budgets across multiple priorities
  • Support business leaders in tracking business critical efficiency/productivity metrics
  • Own the monthly expense forecasting process. Preparing & presenting monthly forecasts, drivers and variance analysis 
  • Continuously improving monthly forecast and variance analysis, leveraging and enhancing capabilities of existing tools and process improvements
  • Partner with accounting to drive changes to improve processes and respond to cost center owner requests
  • Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors, senior management and investors
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required, related to both the forecast and strategic initiatives

In your first 30 days:

  • Complete our corporate onboarding and training program
  • Begin to learn our industry and business
  • Begin to learn the budgeting/expense forecasting process & models, leveraging Anaplan
  • Learn how to effectively use the company’s suite of software systems (Anaplan, Workday, Google Suite, etc.)
  • Understand the FY21 plan by Opex department for both headcount and non-headcount expenses
  • Understand how we account for shared services (IT, Real Estate) and the forecast methodology for those departments, including CapEx

In your first 60-90 days:

  • Work with key stakeholders to improve forecasting and reporting
  • Enhance ongoing forecast process to increase business partner visibility and collaboration
  • Prepare materials for Executive Management, Board of Directors, and Investors
  • Understand the Anaplan operating expense and headcount forecast
  • Partner with accounting to streamline variance analysis (actual vs forecast)
  • Leverage data insights to help the business more objectively allocate resources across departments and make better strategic and financial decisions
  • Implement enhancements to the Anaplan operating expense and headcount forecast process

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of FP&A experience with emphasis on forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis; Strong forecasting skills
  • Systems skills / experience or strong desire to learn 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive can-do attitude in approaching complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members
  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, accounting preferred (or strong demonstrative quantitative professional experiences)
