Ripple is looking for a dynamic and motivated Accounting professional to be part of our growing accounting organization. Reporting the Assistant Controller, this unique role will be a good mix of accounting & business operations, technical accounting and will be constantly faced with issues that require critical thinking, experience, and perseverance to solve. This will be an individual contributor role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Serve as the primary accounting resource for our regulated entity responsible for maintaining appropriate internal controls, timely reporting and operational efficiency
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting operational processes for major cycles such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and XRP
- Partner with cross functional departments to ensure our partners are receiving a high level of customer service and insightful reporting for key company programs, projects and other initiatives
- Assist with the expansion into our new global locations
- Assisting in processing XRP transactions and ensuring adherence to strict security protocols and processes, and preparing monthly reporting packages
- In response to any accounting process shortcomings or resource shortages, step in on an interim basis to own and maintain operations until the permanent solution can be implemented
- Serve as the accounting business partner to cross functional departments
- Act as project manager or work independently on ad-hoc projects and show the ability to think critically to identify risks and the most efficient path forward.
- Manage timely renewal of insurance policies and serve as primary point of contact for internal and external insurance related requests
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- At least 8 years of experience in a combination of industry and public accounting experience with at least 3 years in a general accounting or controllership function
- Bachelors degree
- CPA with Audit experience in the FinTech industry preferred
- Experience with a variety of operational accounting roles
- Must be organized and have proven ability in designing and implementing effective operational controls and processes
- Proven record of solving for complex technical and operational accounting issues
- Strong project management skills and ability to drive completion of complex projects, with effective communications across departments
- Ability to rapidly respond to changing priorities and accommodate short notice for deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required
- Proven ability to self-direct
- Experience with Intacct or a similar ERP required
- Ability to balance responsibilities as individual contributor and as manager
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
