The Role:

A core principle of the Finance team at Spire is to be a business partner to all teams.  We solve business problems with good systems and strong processes. This role requires a solid foundation in financial accounting and is a unique opportunity to have a global impact. We move fast and we are looking for you to partner with our U.S. Controller to help further develop our sound financial future. Responsibilities:

• Manage complex accounting treatments such as debt and equity arrangements on an ongoing basis
• Handling reporting and data entry of company equity and stock based compensation through Carta across all 4 entities 
• Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders to develop, document and implement scalable accounting processes and strong internal controls that are SOX compliant
• Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
• Manage and update multi-location US payroll data on a bi-weekly basis

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in a Finance/ Accounting position
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• CPA
• Experience with ERP & Payroll systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of general ledger accounting, inter-company transactions, and currency translation
• Pre or Post-IPO experience
• Excellent Excel skills
• Experience with Netsuite ERP & Payroll
• Combination of public accounting and corporate experience
• Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Being ridiculously organized and quick to hit the ground running — you are attentive to the minute details of processes, and have a knack for seeing problems before they show up — and are willing and ready to dive in wherever needed.
