The Role

The Staff Accountant will be reporting directly to the Accounting Manager to support and enhance our accounting operations, as well as help automate workflows and implement financial systems within Brex. You will be directly responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our internal financial records. Our department is rapidly growing and you will play a meaningful role in developing scalable processes and contribute to Brex’s long-term growth!

What You’ll do

  • Prepare journal entries, income statement and balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis at month-end close for revenue-related accounts
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering and operations to automate accounting entries and design financial systems related to Brex Card and future Brex products
  • Improve business processes and help scale accounting operations though special projects and analysis
  • Assist FP&A by analyzing data to allocate P&L to departments, segments, and financial statement line items
  • Reconcile payment systems internally with external networks, banks, and processors
  • Assist Brex product teams by providing feedback on product experience, accounting integrations, and features
  • Assist with preparing complex estimates utilized for decision making and reporting purposes
  • Support annual audit requirements

What We Value

  • 2+ years of public accounting, consulting, or financial services related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
