About the role:

Vungle, a mobile ad network, seeks a dynamic and efficient lawyer to serve as its first Product Counsel. You will join a small team as the third member in the Legal department, reporting to the Company’s General Counsel, and will be primarily focused on product-related legal matters.  This role is the first of its kind at Vungle, with significant opportunity to help influence the legal function of a thriving company. Job Description:

• Serve as the first point of contact for legal issues throughout the development lifecycle across all product verticals.  Review products, features, and projects to provide practical day-to-day and strategic advice consistent with Vungle’s global legal objectives.
• Advise on the application of laws, regulations, and industry standards focused on privacy, compliance, data security, intellectual property, marketing, and more.
• Draft and manage the implementation of privacy notices, licensing forms, terms of use, FAQs, marketing communications, etc.
• Negotiate agreements relating to product offerings, integrations, developer tools, third-party software, open-source, and other technology and strategic partnerships.
• Keep current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations.
• Work cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Data Science, Business Development, Marketing) to achieve results balanced with business strategy.
• Work with other legal team members to improve processes, provide training, and ensure needs are met.
• Completing other special legal assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

• J.D. & California Bar admitted or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
• 5+ years legal experience (combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred) working on technology-related issues.
• Substantive experience focused on one or more of the following practice areas: privacy and compliance, product counseling, intellectual property, and technology transactions.
• Experience counseling on the launch of products and advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the software industry.
• Significant experience advising on matters involving global data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, e-Privacy, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD, etc.).
• Excellent transactional and drafting skills.
• Attention to details, while not losing sight of the bigger picture.
• Interest / experience in mobile gaming and/or adtech is a plus.
• Cooperative team-player with a sense of humor!
