Ripple is seeking to hire a talented and self-motivated transactional lawyer to join Ripple’s Legal Team. In this role, you will support the company’s business and finance teams on enterprise technology transactions across the payments, financial technology, blockchain and cryptocurrency spaces. You will be an integral part of our growing and agile go-to-market legal team. In addition to supporting the business’s transaction and strategic pipeline, you will provide legal expertise on a wide range of other general matters. This position will report to Ripple’s Director of Commercial Legal Affairs in San Francisco.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist the company’s sales, business development, finance, Xpring and marketing teams in a variety of commercial and strategic transactions and investments, from drafting and reviewing term sheets, managing deal processes, drafting and negotiating definitive documentation with primary responsibility for the LATAM region. 
  • Provide overall legal counsel to sales, product marketing, and operations on go-to-market commercial issues.
  • Manage and budget for external advisors engaged on such projects.
  • Assist with other general commercial, corporate governance, or general corporate matters.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • J.D. from a law school and strong academic credentials
  • Qualified California counsel, or eligible for foreign (US Based) in-house counsel registration with the CA State Bar Association
  • 7+ years practicing as a transactional attorney at a big law firm and inhouse, with enterprise tech company experience required
  • Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish is strongly preferred
  • Strong experience with enterprise technology commercial agreements: software licensing, Saas, and partnership contract negotiations on a global basis.
  • Experience working on international transactions with colleagues and customers globally.
  • Willingness to ‘pitch in’ and be a business partner to your internal clients.
  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally with Ripple’s product, marketing, engineering, security, tax and finance teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes.
  • Ability to travel at least once per quarter.
