WHAT WE DO

Postmates relies heavily on our engineering team to realize this vision. Building a software platform that is reliable, scales, and stays agile under demanding product needs is a serious technical challenge. Postmates is a three-part balancing act connecting customers, merchants, and couriers in real-time. If any piece is out of whack, the whole system suffers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
• Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
• Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
• Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
• Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
• Lead a team of Desktop Support and System Engineers in multiple locations
• Conduct hardware and software reviews of systems to ensure compliance with established policies, standards and configuration guidelines
• Balance daily operational requirements with long-term strategic planning and communication

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field or IT related degree and/or combination of directly related work experience commensurate with 7+ years’ experience
• 7+ years people managing experience
• Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, Audio/Visual systems, and phone systems
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
• Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
• Ability to work in a changing environment while maintaining quality and productivity
• Ability to communicate at different levels; from the C-Level executive to IC personnel 
• Able to maintain a professional manner during difficult escalation situations

OUR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
• Knowledge of Audio/Visual systems such as Google Meets, Zoom among others
• Advanced knowledge with productivity tools such as G-Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail,google drive), Windows, and Apple tools (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
• Proficient in at least one scripting language. (PowerShell, Python, Perl)
