About the role:

Cruise is looking for a highly experienced Director of Global IT. As the head of IT at Cruise you will be responsible for our global IT systems, applications, and processes which support our full time and substantial international contract workforce.

Our ideal candidate will be technically adept and metrics driven, with outstanding communication skills, executive presence, and customer obsession.

As such, Cruise IT sits within our engineering function and this role reports directly to our Head of Infrastructure.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • End to end ownership of IT systems and processes at Cruise
  • Hire, promote, and develop a strong leadership bench of Managers and Senior Managers to support your organization
  • Build a deep understanding of company business processes, partner with business function owners to determine requirements, evaluate emerging technologies, and develop a technical strategy that helps achieve our business goals
  • Identify and select best practices to document, optimize, and automate business processes across the company
  • Define execution mechanisms to ensure projects are properly scoped, tracked, and communicated, and completed in an effective and efficient manner
  • Lead IT operations & support for all Cruise locations, ensuring superior employee experience measured by customer satisfaction surveys and internal KPIs & SLAs
  • Design and manage Cruise IT’s asset purchase & replacement policy, manage the inventory of all Cruise IT assets, and ensure software license compliance
  • Effectively and efficiency manage Cruise IT’s budget and headcount, anticipating for company growth and future company needs
  • Implement Cruise Information Security standards across all IT systems, following best practice logging, monitoring, alerting and threat management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, MSPs, suppliers, and consultants

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in IT industry
  • 7+ years in IT leadership roles
  • Experience managing an organization of 50+ employees
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing implementation and migration of critical business applications such as HRIS, ERP/EPM, CRM, and integration between these
  • Detailed knowledge and experience implementing IAM, endpoint management, and mobile device management best practices in a heterogeneous environment (Windows, MacOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, Android)
  • Experience working with cloud-based SSO, MFA, CASB, and network gateways such as Duo
  • Strong communications skills (written/verbal) and executive presence, comfortable speaking across all organizational levels and departments to complex technical issues and topics
  • Track record of scaling IT service delivery teams through rapid company growth across multiple locations
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals & architecture
  • Experience with professional audio/video conferencing and broadcasting
  • Attention to detail and a passion for quality

Bonus Points!

  • Experience implementing Workday, Oracle ERP/EPM, Salesforce
  • Experience supporting external auditors on compliance standards such as SOC2, CCPA and GDPR
  • Experience working in a Zero/Beyond Trust corporate environment
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and development toolsets such as Jira & Confluence
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef/Puppet/Ansible
  • VMware virtualization technologies
