About the Job:

This role is responsible for the critical Cell technology that connects our devices to KeepTruckin’s intelligent cloud. Candidate will be responsible for all things Cell related to our products; including compon ent selection, working with Cell vendors and FAEs, direct and participate in driver software architecture, development and integration, directing automated bench testing, directing QA procedures, provide input to SIM and data plan selection, management of vendor provided firmware, assisting in supply chain setup and Cell modem firmware programming during production process. Individual will work with and be supported by existing teams of highly effective embedded software developers, hardware engineers, test bench developers, QA engineers, product managers and production partners. Individual will optimize performance and designs of existing products, provide technical direction to an expanding pipeline products. 

Desired location in Buffalo, NY. San Francisco based with regular travel to Buffalo, NY will be considered for right individual.

Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for legacy Cell software.
• Optimize legacy software for reliability, stability and power consumption.
• Direct and assist test bench and QA teams for Cell and LTE performance and reliability testing. 
• Track Cell performance metrics, present metrics to leadership.
• Interface with product teams to define and implement new features
• Interface with QA team to ensure comprehensive testing 
• Direct Cell hardware and software solution for new products.
• Provide input to product team in selecting and purchasing Sim Cards and data services.
• Participate in general embedded Linux software development 
• Mentor and train talented junior engineers to become Cell experts. 

Qualifications:

• Software Engineering degree or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience with Cell, LTE, G4 or G5.
• Strong experience with C / C++ 
• Experience with Embedded Linux, Threadx, FreeRTOS or similar

In Demand Experience:

• Knowledge of embedded systems tools such as emulators, compilers, simulators, etc.
• AWS IoT Things
• Strong experience with Python
• Understanding of Object Oriented Design principles
• Experience with unit test frameworks
•  Experience with structured software development processes 
• Experience with Git
