About the Role

Lyra Health is looking for a Lead Product Illustrator to scale Lyra’s aesthetic across every step of the mental health journey. As an illustrator at Lyra, you’ll craft high quality imagery while solving problems creatively across various styles and applications. Your systems-oriented solutions will take into account Lyra’s end-to-end ecosystem, and in this role, you’ll work from idea to implementation alongside product designers, ux researchers, product managers, engineers, clinicians and executives to shape the design ecosystem for millions of users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop scalable illustration systems & strategies for our products across all platforms (iOS, Android, Web)
• Help define our visual product language, and evolve our illustration processes and guidelines
• Own the end-to-end illustration process across our product features from initial concepting and ideation, to engineering implementation support, and final production (utilizing user research and data to inform approach)
• Identify appropriate tone, detail, audience and style through briefs and open communication
• Participate in design critiques and present work regularly in stakeholder feedback meetings
• Collaborate closely with our Brand Design team to translate the expression of our brand identity into our user experiences
• Partner closely with Product Design, UX Research, Product Management, Clinical and Engineering to help shape and deliver upon our product roadmap

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of professional Illustration experience
• Strong portfolio of illustration work in a variety of contexts, with a focus on digital product experiences
• Experience building scalable product illustration guidelines, visual design systems, and detailed specifications and documentation
• Experience illustrating for consumer-facing digital experiences for web and mobile applications
• Mastery of Adobe Illustrator and Figma.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in a collaborative, iterative product team with Engineers, Product Managers, UX Researchers, and Product Designers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
• Bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, visual communication, or equivalent practical experience

NICE TO HAVES

• 3D rendering / Cinema 4D Experience
• Motion Design experience, working with After Effects and animation frameworks 
• Experience working with prototyping tools
• Knowledge of HTML and working with SVGs
