What we need:

Growth product plays a foundational role at Masterclass and is at the core of increasing the lifetime value of our members. The growth organization tackles challenging problems through its main pillars of driving traffic, converting that traffic to members, and retaining those members. Operating across all those pillars is the MarTech Team whose mission is to elevate and super charge our lifecycle and performance marketing teams capabilities.

We have a great performance marketing team and large performance and brand marketing spend that power a large portion of our user acquisition and revenue. Given the size of our spend and user base, we now have a large untapped opportunity to bring best in class marketing technology practices and systems to bear in order to get more out of the large advertising networks.

As our user base has grown we have the opportunity to deliver a greater member value through delivering a holistic omni channel approach to our member communications. We are looking for a product manager to help build out the systems, processes, and data pipeline to enable our amazing marketing team to deliver the best communications to our members at the right times.

In this role you will be the foundational member of the MarTech organization and will be executing on both 0-1 initiatives and 1-100 projects to augment our current team.


What we are looking for:

  •  Product Manager to execute on our Lifecycle product at MasterClass which includes building product to augment our Lifecycle team's ability to deliver the most impactful campaigns as well as our MarTech initiatives at MasterClass which includes building products and tools  to augment our performance marketing team.
  • We need to build the workflows and tools necessary to empower our strong marketing teams to send the best campaigns possible. This means we need to make sure our platform has the right data at the right time, that we identify and build the right segments and personas, and the right data is available to power those personas via all communications channels, some of which will need to be built and unified (email, push, sms, in-app, other)
  • Our vision is to create a best-in-class technical and operational capability. We strive to understand our members, segment them in ways that make sense, and offer them tailored interventions consisting of messaging and promotions to help them progress from new users, to engaged users, to users who renew each year and couldn’t imagine living without their MasterClass membership. By layering best-in-class lifecycle practices on top of our already successful core content offering, we believe we can create incredible value for our members and the company
  • Understanding and practice of different lifecycle systems, their strengths, weaknesses, and tradeoffs
  • A candidate who is intimately familiar with social and search channels, their leverage points, weaknesses, and areas of improvements through product and engineering innovations.
  • Someone who has a track record of working closely with performance marketing teams to understand their pain points as well as leverage points and work with them to craft and build tests and tools to augment their performance and efficiency.
  • A candidate that has worked on replacing or augmenting the tools offered directly by our advertising platforms to create the right combination of off-the shelf 3P tools and home grown technology to make our targeting, optimization, and execution more effective. 
  • A product manager who has worked with data teams to help identify opportunities and create an alerting system to help our performance team run the best campaigns across the platform
  • The role will require us to think differently about our user CRM and other data systems and build/buy/integrate significantly improved capabilities, the product strategy of which is part of this role


What You Will Do: 

  • Partner closely with stakeholders in marketing, data science, and engineering
  • Understand and improve our user journey and business performance from first ad impression to the most recent push notification for a seasoned member
  • Select the right combination of targeting, optimization, nudges, promotions, upgraded CRM, and member segmentation, and other tools to help users join masterclass, stay engaged, and choose to renew


About You:

  • Product Management experience in MarTech, performance marketing, and/or growth
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a highly XFN role across marketing, PM, engineering, executives
  • Proven experience building, and integrating technical products in a growth environment specifically along the lifecycle journey
