Business Systems Analyst 

Business systems analyst (BSA) will solve organizational information problems by analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and designing, documenting, and implementing software solutions. You will work closely with the business and IT to support the development and implementation of technology solutions while focusing on business analysis and project management.

The ideal candidate has experience leading end to end implementation of financial reporting system, order management / inventory management software, or enterprise data reporting software (Netsuite, Looker, Tableau, etc.). A well-rounded technical analyst with strong project management skills and a business focused mindset will thrive in this role.

This role offers a unique opportunity in a fast-growing Business Analytics team, a results-oriented team with ownership over a global portfolio of BI and analytics tool stack at Madison Reed.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Business Systems Implementation

  • Configure new software systems based on user requirements. Proactively monitor, identify, document, and resolve ongoing day-to-day business issues pertaining to system functionality.
  • Document business needs into clearly defined business requirements inclusive of business use cases, process flows, traceability matrices as well as report mock-ups.
  • Translate business requirements into technical workflows and align with IT team to ensure successful execution.
  • Develop ETL pipelines to consolidate data from all systems into a central data warehouse (snowflake).
  • Plan and facilitate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop subject matter expertise and act as the systems admin to improve existing systems or processes by assessing current state and recommending alternative feasible solutions.
  • Develop best in class processes and write systems procedures to support data and systems integrity.
  • Write and maintain documentation for end-users: scripts for dev team for ongoing technical support and training documentation for business users.
  • Design interfaces between systems, construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write clear specifications.
  • Assist business teams with data validation as needed. Write automated data validation scripts to ensure data integrity across systems.

Project Management:

  • Prepare project plans and implementation schedules, plan and conduct project management meeting to communicate status reporting to business teams.
  • Ensure that projects remain on track by tracking activity, resolving/escalating risks, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.

 Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or Engineering) plus at least 5 years as a business systems analyst / engineer reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience documenting requirements using flow charts, sequence diagrams and process workflows.
  • Experience gathering requirements and eliciting feedback via stakeholder analysis, developing use cases, and building mockups or prototypes
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Experience with business process reengineering.
  • Experience with various systems architectures including client-server, web-based, service oriented.
  • Experience in implementing supply chain, inventory management, and/or financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP).
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Data engineering experience with writing and managing ETL pipelines, snowflake data modeling and Looker development.
  • Python knowledge such as Pandas and data visualization libraries and tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work within the USA without sponsorship.

 Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience with Netsuite configuration and ability to assist with system setup, create saved searches, troubleshoot/debug script/workflow issues and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, database systems diagramming and dependency identification.
