The Inventory Planner has a passion for driving results in the inventory and supply chain world – monitoring, managing, analyzing, and optimizing inventory across different channels and vendor partners. The Inventory Planner is responsible for supporting inventory strategies that maximize sales and inventory productivity across our product assortment, at the DCs and in the field. You have a passion for creating or improving processes using data as the basis of your decision making. You have an eagerness to create strong cross-functional partnerships with internal partners in finance, operations, and product development. You are comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and are eager to embrace change. Ideal candidates will be process-focused, detail-oriented, analytical, organized and have strong collaboration skills.


What you’ll do

  • Drive inventory for specific product categories - Create item-level purchasing forecasts and develop replenishment strategies based on MOQs, lead times, channel forecasts, and turn goals. 
  • Support Inventory Manager in producing and maintaining inventory buyplans; collaborate with Finance, Wholesale, Color Bar, and Accounting teams to create consensus forecast for inventory.
  • Produce and communicate weekly wholesale reporting. Review and communicate receipt revenue actuals to forecast and budget. Address trends and forecast future wholesale demand. 
  • Forecast inventory balance over time, establish and track against weeks of supply targets, make suggestions to improve inventory efficiency and manage under/overstocks.
  • Develop Open to Buy/S&OP processes to provide monthly insight to CFO and VP of how we are tracking to forecasted cash spend, inventory balance, W.O.H. targets, and to highlight strategies, constraints, or issues. 
  • Track and monitor inventory levels at all locations. Call attention to items with low on hands, review incoming purchases, make transfer recommendations, and advise on expedites.
  • Act as point person for Color Bar inventory; review results of physical inventories, manage special requests, ensure timely flows, execute transitions, and audit inventory.
  • Ensure accuracy of ERP system by making adjustment and maintaining bills of material; Support the rollout of additional Inventory Planning and/or MRP solutions.
  • Review allocations by DC and make split and transfer recommendations. Establish order levels at the DCs, make adjustments based on sales trends, inventory levels, and DC workload.
  • Monitor weekly wholesale orders, ensure all kitting components available, and advising on cancel/change requests as needed. Own PIM setups and changes. Manage transitions.
  • Drive the Month End inventory process in collaboration with accounting. Collect and aggregate inventory on hands from multiple vendor partners, review cost discrepancies.

What you will need

  • Exceptional Excel skills is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience in Inventory Management, Merchandising Planning, Supply Chain, or Analytics, with an affinity towards e-commerce, consumer products and/or retail
  • Experience in working with metrics and KPI’s with demonstrated strength in analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, ability to be firm and precise, and concurrently build effective relationships
  • Rigorous attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Highly organized with a roll up your sleeves attitude to get the job done with a focus on issue resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate in an ambiguous environment to achieve high levels of performance and deliver sustainable results to the team.
