Broadcom Inc. and VMware, Inc. announced today that they’ve received all necessary regulatory approvals and plan to close Broadcom’s $69 billion acquisition of VMware on November 22, 2023. The companies initially announced the acquisition in May 2022.
Broadcom is a global technology company that provides semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions, while VMware is a provider of multi-cloud services. Broadcom has obtained legal merger clearance in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union, Israel, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. There are no legal obstacles to closing the deal under U.S. merger regulations.
