Recogni, an AI-based computing company headquartered in San Jose, has raised $102 million in Series C funding to advance its AI inference system. The funding round was co-led by Celesta Capital and GreatPoint Ventures.

Inference uses trained models to make predictions or task solutions from live data. Today’s cloud-based AI training and inference predominantly use power-intensive GPUs, which can strain data centers’ compute capacity, cooling and power systems. Recogni aims to make inference more power-efficient to help sustainably broaden AI’s application in industries like automotive and aerospace.

Equipped with its latest capital raise, Recogni will drive product development for its AI inference solutions that offer higher compute density, power efficiency and lower total cost of ownership. The company launched Recogni Scorpio, its first low-power AI compute product, in December 2022.
