Advanced Education Research and Development Fund (AERDF) Benefits Overview

Lead strategy and build reusable data models, AI frameworks, and platform integrations to productionize research. Manage a small distributed data science team (3-6), collaborate with engineers, researchers, and educators, and translate lab implementations into scalable, modular tools and infrastructure to accelerate R&D and product development in education.

Owns nonprofit accounting, monthly close, restricted-fund accounting, audits, Form 990, grant budgeting, and financial reporting. Partners with program teams on pre-award budgets and post-award spending forecasts, manages grant records and sub-awards, oversees internal controls, reviews payroll, and supervises an outsourced accounting firm and AP/AR payroll specialist. The role is fully remote within the United States.

Own the design vision and execution for experimental AI-powered learning tools co-created with teachers and researchers. Design teacher- and student-facing products, create flows, wireframes, interaction designs, and functional prototypes, and facilitate collaboration across educators, researchers, engineers, and data scientists. Conduct usability testing and validate research hypotheses while navigating ambiguity, data-heavy workflows, and uncertain AI/ML-enabled features.
