Partners with founders and researchers to translate complex technical work into clear, compelling narratives; manages communications and scientific publications teams; establishes creative standards, review systems, media relationships, and effectiveness metrics. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on editorial execution in a rapidly scaling scientific organization.

Own support and operations for Arc’s laboratory information management system. Responsibilities include managing requests, making schema changes, maintaining data validation checks, supporting experiment templates and command-line tools, training scientists, documenting workflows, and automating recurring tasks. The role also includes improving permissions, building tools to make laboratory metadata queryable, debugging systems, and eventually owning part of the lab platform from design through support.

Own and develop Arc Institute’s machine learning infrastructure for virtual cell models, including model evaluation dashboards, single-cell data pipelines, training-set quality controls, and lab-in-the-loop systems. Build scalable train-and-evaluate CI, support distributed multi-node training, improve GPU utilization and throughput, and create validation frameworks for AI-generated software. Partner directly with ML researchers and scientists while setting technical direction for production platforms.
