Industrial Engineering Intern supporting production-floor decision tools, process improvement, data analysis, project implementation, and team capability building. The intern will learn basic programming, analyze data, make recommendations, assist with projects, and collaborate with managers, team leads, and Fabrinet West employees. Strong communication, presentation, leadership, analytical, computer, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are required.

Collects customer demand forecasts and develops factory master schedules for manufacturing operations. Produces MDS-MPS schedules, schedule comparison reports, revenue and sales forecast reports, and waterfall charts. Coordinates manpower, equipment capacity, materials, and related planning requirements with internal departments. Supports customer satisfaction and section performance while applying BOM, MRP II, ERP, SAP, and APICS concepts.

Drive continuous improvement and optimize SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes, including production flow, instructions, yield, quality, scrap, cycle time, tooling, equipment, and process validation. Prepare DFX and yield reports, support engineering builds and supply chain coordination, transfer processes across sites, and manage process introduction schedules. Apply statistical analysis, Lean Manufacturing, soldering expertise, and problem-solving methods to improve manufacturing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Develop and maintain ICT test processes, procedures, tools, and equipment. Install and qualify new test stations, manage equipment calibration, monitor yields, troubleshoot failures to the PCBA component level, and support root-cause analysis and RMA investigations. Prepare technical and qualification reports, maintain measurement records, assist with compliance documentation, and train technicians and operators. The role requires Keysight ICT experience, contract manufacturing knowledge, scripting ability, and strong technical English communication.

Develop and maintain manufacturing test processes, procedures, tools, and equipment. Monitor yields, qualify new test stations, perform calibration and certification, troubleshoot PCBA-level failures, and support root cause analysis and RMA investigations. Prepare technical and qualification reports, maintain measurement records, assist with product compliance documentation, and train technicians and operators. The role also involves customer communication, test equipment design verification, and coordination across functional departments.

Supervises manufacturing operators on the swing shift, monitors production status and capacity needs, ensures daily commitments are met, and maintains performance standards. Oversees workplace safety, coordinates with cross-functional teams, supports customer service and deadlines, approves timecards, and manages cost controls. Lean manufacturing and contract manufacturing experience are preferred, along with prior leadership, communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Coordinates work-in-progress, materials, and information across manufacturing, planning, inventory control, purchasing, and material handling teams to keep production schedules on track. Reviews material due dates, verifies MES, SAP, and physical inventory accuracy, monitors kit availability and shortages, reports performance against plan, provides WIP status updates, and supports process improvements.

Supports continuous improvement and manufacturing process optimization for PCBA production. Develops process flows, tooling, build plans, production reports, and DFX and yield analyses. Coordinates engineering builds, supply chain activities, schedules, shipments, staffing, and overtime requirements. Uses statistical methods to identify problems, implement corrective and preventive actions, improve process capability, and increase production efficiency. Requires expertise in SMT/PTH assembly, soldering processes, electronic manufacturing equipment, and applicable IPC and J-STD standards.
